The Club is delighted to offer a splendid new publication to our Members and Friends.
“Royal Dornoch Memories” is a re-issue in one volume of the special booklets done by our legendary member and RDGC ambassador Donald Grant in 1973—“Donald Ross of Pinehurst & Royal Dornoch” and in 1985—“Personal Memories of Royal Dornoch Golf Club, 1900-1925.”
These wonderful works are accompanied by excellent current images of the Championship Course as well as important Royal Dornoch excerpts from classic golf books and periodicals from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Also, with generous permission from Bill Scheft, Herbert Warren Wind’s nephew, this new publication includes excerpts from Mr. Wind’s exceptional essay from 1964, ‘North to the Links of Dornoch.”
“Royal Dornoch Memories” has prefatory material from Captain-elect William D M Mackay; Alan Grant, member and Donald Grant’s great-nephew; and D M Wilson, a member and publisher of the un-related Grant Books Ltd. An anonymous American member has provided all funding for this project with the understanding that all proceeds shall support “The Dr John MacLeod Caddie Fund at Royal Dornoch Golf Club.” The 210-page publication is an attractive volume, printed on acid-free paper with a card-cover slipcase. The price is £15.
